July 2008 Farnborough Air Show

BAE Systems created a Centenary of British Aviation Hall at the Farnborough International Airshow (14th-20th July 2008). The hall featured the Roe 1 Biplane a partially constructed Roe 1 Triplane, a replica of the Cody British Army Aeroplane No 1as well as a replica of the wright B Flyer. A historic moment was created when descendants of the three great aviators (Amanda Wright Lane, Peter & John Cody and Eric Verdon-Roe), met next to their ancestor's machines. Highlights on the public day flying display (19th and 20th July, 2008) were the Avro Lancaster and the Avro Vulcan nursed back into the air by the Vulcan to the Skies team.
