The aircraft was the second ever to recover from a spin. Parke was at the time test carrying Lt Le Breton as a passenger. To help relieve the monotony they were carrying out some steep dives. When doing so and attempting a turn they spun. Parke experimented as they were spinning and discovered that if the stick were central then recovery could be made by adding opposite rudder. This made the Type G the first aircraft to recover from a spin with competent observers.
Later in on the 25th H. V. Roe flew as passenger to Upavon and became the first person to type a letter in an aircraft while in flight.
