AVRO Type G
Entered in the military competition on Salisbury Plain.
It was the worlds first cabin biplane and was powered by the 60hp Green Engine. Lateral control achieved by wing warping.
The aircraft was not tested predelivery and was flown on the 7th August after being assembled on site, this resulted in a crash.
The aircraft was repaired in Manchester and returned on the 14th August for further testing.
The Type G was the easy winner of the assembly test in a time of just 14.5 minutes. The Farman took 9h 29min in comparison.
The aircraft went onto establish a new all British Aeroplane endurance record of 7h 31min on October 21st.
