A V Roe's grandson returns

Eric Verdon-Roe is the grandson of Sir Alliott Verdon-Roe, founder of AV Roe and Co. Mr Verdon-Roe visited Brownsfield Mill at the Piccadilly Basin development in Manchester, to witness the initial £2.5m phase of restoration. The grade two listed mill, in total 50,000 sq ft, has been empty since 2002.

Town Centre Securities director Richard Lewis said: "Brownsfield Mill is the last listed building to be restored in Piccadilly Basin's amazing heritage, and it was important to us that the restoration of the exterior be sensitively undertaken, to protect and preserve this incredible building."
